About Christmas Cove / features historical apples, cider, old glass pop bottles, tins, and signs

Kilcherman's Christmas Cove Farm is a four-generation farm located on the beautiful Leelanau Peninsula of Michigan. We are surrounded by the clear blue waters of Lake Michigan and Northport Bay. The climate is ideal for growing quality fruit - including apples, cherries, peaches and plums. Our Village of Northport is picturesque and the countryside reminds one of a patchwork quilt.

John became interested in the many varieties of antique apples which have slowly disappeared from the orchards and consequently from the marketplace. This interest has become his hobby. He has sought old books and journals long out of print and the knowledge and interest of other nurserymen to increase his own knowledge of the subject. We now have 250 varieties of apples growing on our farm. We also grow some of the newest varieties that are being introduced into the marketplace. He is known as "John, the Apple Man" for his love and interest in apples.

Fresh pressed unpasteurized cider

Historical Apples -- Kilcherman's Christmas Cove Farm has over 240 varieties, many of which are historical or antique apples grown centuries ago in England, Europe, and Colonial America.

Cider -- Fresh pressed throughout the season we take a few of these apples and a few of those apples to create an incredible aromatic taste-filled unpasteurized cider that can contain up to 60 different apples depending on the time of the year.

Old glass pop bottles -- Come and see the world's largest pop bottle collection -- over 10,000 bottles strong and growing. It's bigger than the one listed in the Guinness Book of World Records!

Tins and Signs -- Take a step back in time and remember your earlier years by staring up into the rafters of our apple barn to see old historical signs and tins from ages ago. We've got signs, pails, product tins, and more to bring back some memories.
